Tool #9 Classroom Based Technology

Having a lesson connect to the daily objective is important no matter what vehicle you use teaching. The same is true when using technology - the point is to get the lesson learned. Technology just helps the student be at the center of their own learning. Students have to be accountable for the time they spend on the technology by writing a blurb, filling out an exit slip, answering questions or a poll....I found a website, shodor.org that had a good activity for factors and factorization - it allows the kids to find and draw the rectangles for factors of a number (boy if I can get this one stuck in their heads, I'll yell it from the rooftops!). I found Tutpup very elementary, but this could be used as a station for remediation of basic skills (they ALL need that!)
